Born and raised in Lake City, Michigan, Stefanie Osborne brings a lifelong commitment to service, justice, and family to her role as Estate Planning Paralegal and Medicaid Specialist at Axis Estate Planning. Her journey is rooted in a strong sense of compassion and an unwavering drive to advocate for those navigating the complex long-term care system—especially seniors and their families.
After graduating from Lake City High School and attending Baker College to study Human Resource Management and Criminal Justice, Stefanie launched her career in public service. She spent a decade with the Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office as a 911 Dispatcher and Corrections Officer before joining the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. As a Medicaid Eligibility Specialist, she spent nine years witnessing firsthand the heartache families experienced when they were denied benefits because they had saved “too much.” It was a turning point—watching hard-working people like her own parents get penalized for doing everything right drove Stefanie to find a better way to help.
When an elder law attorney walked into her office one day and asked her to stop telling him what he was doing wrong and just come work for him, she took the leap—and never looked back. For the past eight years, Stefanie has specialized in elder law and Medicaid planning, using her expertise to protect clients’ hard-earned assets while helping them access the care and benefits they deserve.
Her work includes developing creative, compliant asset protection strategies, assisting with long-term care placements, trust funding and management, and securing guardianships and conservatorships through the probate court. Stefanie’s experience allows her to find personalized solutions for even the most urgent elder care crises—and hearing the relief in a family’s voice when she presents a path forward is what fuels her every day.
Stefanie’s most meaningful achievement was preparing a Medicaid plan for her own parents during her father’s battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Plus. Knowing she could protect her mother from financial devastation while ensuring her father received the best care brought her work full circle—and reaffirmed her belief that every family deserves the same compassion and care.
In 2024, Stefanie relocated to Beverly Hills, Michigan, where she and her husband Max enjoy cruising down Woodward Avenue in their vintage ‘57 Porsche Speedster, watching classic ‘80s and ‘90s movies, attending concerts, and experimenting with homemade sauces on the grill. She also loves baking pies and hosting friends and family for warm, memorable gatherings.
Her son Daniel works at Oakland University in Auburn Hills, and their French Bulldog, Oliver, is proudly spoiled and lovingly referred to as “the best baby dog ever.”
A proud Detroit Lions fan since childhood and a passionate fisherman raised on Michigan’s inland lakes and Great Lakes, Stefanie also has a deep love for musical theatre—her favorites include The Lion King, Hamilton, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
At Axis Estate Planning, Stefanie channels her personal passion and professional experience into helping families preserve what matters most—with dignity, empathy, and expert guidance every step of the way.
