Mr. Schofner graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and Psychology from Hanover College in 1985. He then went on to attend the University of Dayton School of Law, graduating in 1988 with his Juris Doctor.
Following law school, Mr. Schofner was admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and in the State of Indiana. He is also admitted to practice law before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern District of Indiana. Mr. Schofner has been admitted, on a pro hac vice basis to practice in the United States Bankruptcy Courts in various matters including, but not limited to, Delaware, New York, Connecticut, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Illinois. Mr. Schofner’s practice was focused primarily on business related matters including corporate mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy matters and real estate, before he began focusing on Estate Planning Law.
Mr. Schofner has spoken at numerous seminars and has published various articles. He is currently on the Education Committee for the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section. Mr. Schofner has been recognized as a Super Lawyer, a Top Lawyer by the Detroit business journal DBusiness Magazine, Lawyers of Distinction and others for his skill and reputation. He is also a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.
